The Department of Financial Studies the Post-graduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed the research titled (Foreign reserves and their role in stabilizing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar) for the student Muhannad Yahya Khudair to obtain a higher diploma equivalent to a master’s degree in Banking and grants its holder all the rights and privileges of a master’s degree.
The study aimed to develop the images of foreign reserves in the possession of the Iraqi Central Bank during the study period, and to indicate the nature of the exchange rate system used for monetary policy, with the analysis of the relationship of foreign reserves in how the exchange rate is stable while following the fixed exchange rate system.
The study found the strengthening of foreign reserves, in order to meet the need for a balance of payments balance, and to face internal and external crises, and the reflection of this strengthening by the stability of the exchange rate, and then the general stability of prices.
